Today's world is difficult for everyone, especially teenagers. They face the stresses of school, deciding whom to date, and the biggie of sex, just to name a few. Imagine all of those things ten times worse, and you might get an idea of what it's like being a living, breathing teenage vampire. At last, the world can read about the life of a girl with good teeth, her problems with strong sunlight that gave her spots, and the sunblock that made her hair go yucky and produced more spots. Yes, sunlight was dangerous, as she could be the first teenager in history to die from terminal acne! In her everyday life, older vampires expected her to walk about at night in the traditional female uniform, a see-through, 18th-century nightdress, without undies! Well, this female vampire knew why the cold winds blowing along the corridors were called, "male winds," so she wore her see-through nightdress over jeans and a very thick jumper. To be sure that people would still know she was a vampire, the jumper had a very large, pink bat on it. And as to guys, well, it was normal for a girl to dream about guys; she just wished the dreams could have involved chocolates and holding hands, not leaping out at someone, ripping off his shirt, and demanding to know what blood type he was (at least not on the first date).
This very funny vampire novel is very different from your normal vampire book
not just because it is bursting with full colour art fitted in with the text showing the life of a young vampire forced to walk about in a transparent nightdress all day without underwear because that is what female vampires are supposed to do!
“The massacre on 22nd and 3rd was greatly exaggerated by the human newspapers and not altogether my fault.
It was my very first hunting trip, and a girl should not be judged by her first bite night. And no one ever talks about me saving the life of that cat.
Besides, most of them kind of killed themselves without any help from me...."
Now was on the news tonight and apart from the shock and horror of this my first question has to be why? Not that I can think of a single reason how anything could justify this action ......... as for my ideas on what to do with the guys that did this........... well put it this way I expect if I said what I think for a punishment then this blog would get banned.
And "It may threaten tourists," said Abdul Samad, chairman of the Zanzibar Association for Tourism Investors, told AFP.
You think? well I think you could be right Abdul as I have sure removed it from countries I would want to visit
Zanzibar acid attack: Two British teenage girls have corrosive substance thrown in faces by men on moped
Volunteer teachers Katie Gee and Kirstie Trup, both 18, had the corrosive substance thrown in their faces during the assault last night
A manhunt has been launched after volunteer teachers Katie Gee and Kirstie Trup, both 18, had the corrosive substance thrown in their faces during the assault last night.
The girls, from London, were strolling through the streets of Stone Town, in the capital of the island, around 8pm when they were attacked by two men on a moped.#
They reportedly ran into the sea to wash the acid off their skin before it could do any permanent damage.
The teenagers suffered burns to their faces, hands and chests and were airlifted to hospital in Dar es Salaam, in Tanzania.
The women's injuries are "not life threatening", Saleh Mohammed Jidawi, a senior health ministry official, said.
They are believed to have escaped serious disfigurement, Zanzibar’s assistant commissioner of police Mkadam Khamis Mkadam said.
He said: “The girls were accosted by two men on a motorcycle. The men poured this liquid and ran away. The girls managed to get first aid very fast and were taken to hospital for further treatment.
“The doctors said the injuries are relatively minor. There is discoloration but they are not expected to be scarred. They are very lucky in that respect.”
The attack on the women came at the end of the Muslim holy month of fasting of Ramadan, and as people began to celebrate the Eid holiday.
A spokeswoman for the Foreign Office said: "We are aware of an incident and are providing
consular assistance."

She added that officials became aware of the incident last night.
Deputy police commissioner Mkadam added: "Police in Zanzibar have launched a manhunt, and we ask for public assistance in identifying the attackers."
He added: "The motive for the attack on the volunteers, aged 18 years, has not been established."
Katie and Kirstie had been in Zanzibar for two-and-a-half weeks teaching art as part of the Art In Tanzania programme, organised by i-to-i Travel.
In a statement, it said they had been released from a hospital in the Tanzanian capital, Dar es Salaam, after medical treatment.
The company, based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, runs gap year trips to parts of Africa, Asia, central and South America and Australia, with trips to teach in Zanzibar starting at £669 for two weeks.
The company confirmed they were involved in an "acid attack" in Stone Town last night.

"They were flown to Dar es Salaam in mainland Tanzania for medical treatment and have now been released from hospital," it said.
"All our efforts remain focused on ensuring they are supported whilst assisting them and their relatives with the arrangements for their return home.
"i-to-i Travel is working with the authorities in their investigations and continue to liaise closely with the British consulate in Tanzania.
"The motive for the incident is as yet not known and we will await the report from the local authorities in Zanzibar before any comment can be made.
"The female clients had been volunteer teachers on Zanzibar and were in the final week of their trip.
"The safety of our customers is of paramount importance to us and our own investigation will be launched as soon as it is possible to do so and more information will be released as it becomes available."
Holiday island: Zanzibar is popular with tourists
Zanzibar is an archipelago of islands in the Indian Ocean around 22 miles off the coast of mainland Tanzania.
Tourism is the main foreign currency earner for Zanzibar, famed for its white-sand beaches and historical buildings in Stone Town, which is listed as a world heritage site by UNESCO.
"It may threaten tourists," said Abdul Samad, chairman of the Zanzibar Association for Tourism Investors, told AFP.
There have been a series of attacks in the archipelago, including an acid attack on a Muslim cleric in November, and the shooting dead of a Catholic priest in February.
Another priest was shot and wounded in December.
The islands are mainly Muslim, with some three percent of the 1.2 million people Christian.

It is my pleasure to promote Amy Mah (Vampire)
and her book Fangs Rule: A Girls Guide to being a Vampire.
The author Amy Mah (Vampire) is a well known blogger, that writes and blogs as a cynical teenage vampire:
Being a
vampire sounds like it should be a cool thing to be as a teenage girl,
like sleeping during the day and enjoying a night life with friends,
huh, no one had warned me that it also meant having to suffer Teenage
Hormones for so long! I am stuck as a teenager the years may pass but I
am the same age! And as to the rules, so many rules, and vampire
uniforms! Guys have long fancy cloaks that they are always tripping over
and as to the Girls uniform, it is a 18th C Nightdress! The old male
vampires expect a girl to walk about wearing just a see through
nightdress with no underwear on!! as if that is ever going to happen!,
they have seen far too many horror films! Life as a teenager is normally
a living hell but even more so when you have fangs. The world is just
out to get me, and not just by people trying to stake me because I have
better teeth than they do!
FANGS
RULE a girl’s guide to being a vampire …. is a young Adult book for
anyone between Puberty and Senility as it takes a close up look at life
as a female teenage vampire in easy to follow A to Z advice for the
reader, the book is also full of manga art which helps show the human
world what life is like in a vampire world……….
Giving helpful advice such as how to
explain to your Mom that as a teenage blood curdling denizen of the
night you would like to paint your cave bedroom black without having a
shouting match over why you don’t like the way she painted the
stalagmites bright pink to go with the large stuffed pink bats hanging
from the ceiling.
Everything is explained from how to
polish your fangs to fashion tips and ways of climbing across a ceiling
wearing a nightdress without showing your underwear.
Fangs Rule is a must for every teenage
vampire and from these pages you will see why Amy says “Vampires Don’t
Sparkle! …. They Bite!
Hi! My name is Amy Mah Vampire and here are some helpful hints from my book: Fangs Rule: A Girls Guide to Being a Vampire
Going out on a date: Yes we all go
thought the same difficulties of what to wear, the wardrobe will not
shut but I still do not have anything suitable, so after hours of
searching in the end I decide to wear black as it will match my comfy
shoes, ok so I have more shoes than a dictators wife but only one comfy
pair and they are black, why comfy shoes? Well I have no idea where we
are going so what the heck should I wear!
Now comes the date bag, why can’t a girl
just go out, and when I say a girl I mean me, why do I have to look like
I’m going for a 10 day vacation and not just a night out.
So let’s open the date bag and check if everything is there. 1. Cell phone fully charged. 2. Spare cash and credit card. 3. Packet of mints for after eating smelly food….er…………foreigners 4. Chap stick ….well you may kiss him and …….. it goes with the mints ok? 5. Make up mirror, why take a mirror you
ask, ..er …well if I get ship wreaked I can use it to signal for help,
look it is just needed ok! 6. Packet of tissues just in case you cannot find a washroom when out. 7. Keys large bunch and no I do not know why luggage keys are on the same ring with my house keys. 8. Sun glasses, hat and 100% sun block just in case you stay out early. 9. A spare pair of panties in case I
sleep over ……… er not that I am planning to sleep over … er forget it
ok! Look I said stop giggling and forget it!!!! 10. Precautions and protection, nowadays
it is not just a boys reasonability for protection and so a girl should
also take her own protection if needed, personally I take a can of Mace
and a 10 inch kitchen knife and if that fails I sink my teeth into the
neck!
My thoughts: This
little book is going to be a hit with the young vampire readers. It's a
fun twist on the do's and don't's of and what it's like to be a
vampire. Set up as an A-Z guide, this book is filled with fantastic
illustrations and comical advice on everything from aging to zombies. I
enjoyed the handwritten look of the font. Thoughtfully put together.

I'd like to welcome Amelia Mah today to Not Enough Time in the Day. She's graciously agreed to be our first Saturday Spotlight author. Fangs Rule: a Girl's Guide to Being a Vampire and her new release Amy Mah Vampire (Night Life) document the ups and downs of being a teenage vampire. Let's get started shall we? Tell us a bit about yourself.
Hi my name is Amy, ok my full Vampire name is: Lady Amelia Mistress of the Night Mare but I prefer to shorten mine to Amy Mah (Vampire) or just Amy to my friends. For those who do not know me I should point out that I used to be a feral vamp living in the outside world raised by humans until I was discovered and adopted into Vampire society. In the human world life was very difficult for me, I knew I needed blood but did not know how to get it, all I had was human books and films telling all kinds of stuff that was useless like I can change into a bat, and that is so not true as I tried it and all it does is make you look stupid as you flap your arms up and down! It was while living with humans I started writing my own little journal, recording what it is like being a teenage vampire, I know that a lot of it will be very obvious but I started it when I knew very little about Vampire-ing…
What inspires you to write? Well I have lots of stories playing in my head so it’s either become a writer or start wearing white jackets that tie your arms behind your back. If it was not for being able to step into my own world I expect I would go crazy.
Do your stories tend to be character driven or plot driven? The characters. The plot just seems to happen on its own. Nothing is ever planned. I just provide the fingers on the keyboard.
In what ways are your characters like you? In what ways are your characters not like you?
The main character is just like me. Yes, she is very like me. In fact we both have the same name! Ok so we are a little different, like she can hang from the ceiling by her foot claws where as I would be lucky to hold onto a ladder with two hands.
I based her on my own childhood and yes I did have a very odd upbringing. I remember sleeping on roofs as a child. Well we had a flat roof and it was so much fun on a hot summers night to wear PJ’s and snuggle up in a sleeping bag staring up at the stars and yes my PJ’s did have bats on them. Ho, those were the days!
I now own panties with bats on! See I did say I was crazy. I will try and add a pic of them to this just to prove it.
What are the recurring core issues in your stories?
I can remember all the embarrassing stuff that all teenagers go through and I show that they are the same when you happen to be a different species and to this day I still think boys happen to be a different species with or without fangs.
In the book I talk of the problems with simple things like wrapping a tower around yourself when coming out of a shower, this sort of thing definitely comes from my high school days where for fun girls used to pull off other girls towels so you had to run after them naked, apart from the writing has it affected me? Well if ever see me wear just a towel in company nowadays I would be the one with that comes with a belt!
My vampire world has lots of rules and when something happens then there is a reason for it. You can see how the main characters run up against rules and what happens to them when they do. Normally it is very funny to watch.
Why do you think you are drawn to these types of characters/plots again and again?
I try to put myself into a situation and then look around and think heck how would I get out of this. As I said, the world has rules and my characters are not super heroes.
Just because a vampire has better teeth than most people all it means is they need to brush them more often!
What are your favorite fiction genres to read from?
I love funny novels.
What are your favorite non-fiction genres to read from?
History, yes I so love history.
Where can we find your book Fangs Rule: A Girl's Guide to Being a Vampire and your new book Amy Mah Vampire (Nightlife)?
Today's world is difficult for everyone, especially teenagers.

With a world filled with blood sucking denizens of the night (vampires) you want me to give you a location? Ok, think of it as America and as to the time well, about right now. ;)
Who is the heroine?
Amy Mah who is a teenage girl that finds she is stuck as a teenager for far too long.
What drives her?
Day to day living, the same that drives most people.
What is she running away from (literally or figuratively)?
Mostly humans that want to kill her just because she has better teeth than they do.
What about her will make readers sympathetic to her?
Anyone who is a teenager or lived through the teenage years will know her problems.
What is the theme at the heart of your story?
Growing up and being different
Will your new book be part of a series?
Yes I hope it is, but it will depend if people buy this one. If they do then it will be the first in the Night Life series.
Last Year I did a book which is a guide to help to understand my vampire world it is called FANGS RULE: A Girls Guide to Being a Vampire”
Its done as an A to Z of what to expect to happen as a teenage vampire, a self help book if you will. The guide is fully illustrated by manga Artist Heby and is written in an easy to follow A - Z format explaining everything a teenage vampire girl would need to know about living life as a modern Vampire. What is fashionable to wear when eating out? Fang maintenance & how to keep your claws sharp. Should you let a boy bite you on the first date? Easy to understand clear advice is given to every day problems Example: When you get an urge to bite: We all get those normal urges to bite things, and I must point out it is very normal. Claws are all well and good in a fight but a bite gives the extra advantage of getting a refreshing drink at the same time. Lots of girls worry about showing their Fangs in public believing that to show your fangs is rude, but don't be shy they can be a girls greatest asset (ok second greatest asset) if a boy is being rude to you, don't just snarl at him, bite him! You are a vampire why do you think you have sharp teeth if not for sinking them into a boy that is being rude to you?
Very good point, Amy! Where else can we find more about you and your books?
